9,000 users switch from PCs to Macs every day
That at least is the estimate of Tom Yager, chief technologist at the InfoWorld Test Center. Based on estimates made by Steve Jobs, half of new Macs in the U.S. are sold to first-time Apple buyers.
Jobs’ casual estimated launched Yager on an interesting experiment. He set up a long-time Windows user (and Mac basher) on a new MacBook running an exact duplicate of her PC inside an OS X Aqua window and sat back to watch what happens. The first entry in Yager’s running experiment can be read here.
