Microsoft will donate money to charities for every IM sent
I received an email from a contact/friend at Microsoft today: Microsoft’s newest charitable donation program is going to donate money to a list of charities for every IM that is sent with the new Microsoft Instant Live Messenger.
“The basic idea is that if you download and use the new Microsoft Instant Messaging software (which is free of charge), Microsoft will contribute money to a charity that you select from a short list of charities designated as beneficiaries of the initiative. The more that people use the software, the more Microsoft will contribute to the charity you select! Microsoft guarantees that each of the organizations listed will receive a minimum of $100,000, but the cool thing is that there is NO MAXIMUM!!!”
This list of charties includes:
- American Red Cross
- Boys & Girls Club
- National AIDS Fund
- National Multiple Sclerosis Society
- Sierra Club
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure
- The US fund for UNICEF
What a wonderful cause! Most of us already use instant messengers every day, why not send IMs for a good cause by using the new Microsoft Instant Live Messenger. Check it out here.
